According to plans for the city’s Architectural Design Review Board meeting Tuesday, there is a proposal to open a two-floor coffee shop with a drive-through window in the building called True West Coffee.
True West hopes to be a gathering place for people to drink “outstanding, affordable” coffee.
Plans call for an outdoor eating area and live weekly music, as well as a variety of seating options inside and wireless Internet, according to plans that were part of documents from the architectural design board. The menu is to have a variety of coffees, gourmet drinks and food, according to the plan.
The same proposal says it will be Hamilton’s only coffee shop open seven days a week with evening hours.
The building is owned by Tim Meehan, who said in an email the shop’s owners are Chris and Vanessa Cannon.
On True West Coffee’s Facebook page, it says it will probably open in September. CHELSEY LEVINGSTON

Ribbon cutting at Carlisle salon
CARLISLE — The Franklin Area Chamber of Commerce will do a ribbon cutting at 3 p.m. today for Belair’s Salon, 365A Dayton-Oxford Road, Carlisle.
Belair’s Salon actually opened in February, said owner Sherrie Snyder.
Snyder had the salon in the same location 12 years ago. Then she moved the salon to Franklin and Springboro and is now back, she said.
The idea behind Belair’s is to offer big-city talent in a small town with full services at affordable prices, she said.
“I’ve kind of come back to being here again,” Snyder said. “Business has been really good. It’s been wonderful.”
Belair’s has on staff an esthetician, Haley Smith, and a hair designer, Heidi Wiggershaus. Snyder also is a hair designer.
