NEW DETAILS: Dayton Mall, Mall at Fairfield Commons closings extended by COVID-19

The owner of the Dayton Mall and The Mall at Fairfield Commons has extended their temporary closures due to efforts to slow the spread of COVID-19.

Washington Prime Group Inc. has announced those two malls in Miami Twp. and Beavercreek, respectively, are a part of the company’s assets that will remain closed until April 6, or at a date in compliance with applicable federal, local or state mandates, according to its website

The company earlier announced shuttering all enclosed assets with an indoor common area until at least March 29 in response to the coronavirus, it announced.

Other Ohio sites the company announced will temporarily close include the Great Lakes Mall; Indian Mound Mall; Lima Mall; New Towne Mall; Polaris Fashion Place; and Southern Park Mall.

Washington Prime also said it has offered all of its open air and enclosed assets to government agencies to use as potential distribution centers.
