The Dayton Police Department welcomed a group of new officers Friday morning.
The members of the 108th Dayton Police Recruit Class were sworn in at City Hall.
The class included 20 officers for Dayton and one for the University of Dayton.
“It’s a little surreal,” said Casey Staples, a new officer from Centerville. “Six months of hard work, being with the same people over and over again, going through things I thought I would never go through.”
The recruit class will also participate in a formal graduation ceremony tonight at Stivers High School.
