A “Coming Soon” banner has been hung in front of the space, and last week, the restaurant’s owners applied to the Ohio Division of Liquor Control for a full liquor license as “Fu Mon Lau Bistro.” That’s also the name used by the South Town Centre’s landlord, Brixmor, on its list of the center’s properties.

It is unclear whether the new restaurant is connected to any other restaurants locally or elsewhere. There are no other restaurants by the same name in the U.S.

A spokeswoman for the restaurant’s owner, Jin Lin, told this news outlet on Feb. 17, that although the owners applied for a full liquor license, plans call for serving beer and wine only.

“The focus of the restaurant is on authentic Cantonese cuisine, but we will also have popular Chinese dishes that folks are familiar with,” the spokeswoman said. “Our menu is still being finalized.”
