“She loved life, and if you met her, you loved her,” said her father Ron Beerman. “She was always smiling and had a bubbly personality, and when she walked into the room, she lit it up.”
The Lakota East High School and Ohio State University graduate was driving toward Deerfield Towne Center from Cincinnati Premium Outlets in Monroe at the time of the accident around 1:30 p.m. Although she was wearing her seat belt, she was pronounced dead at the scene, said Sgt. Tracy Callahan of the highway patrol.
This is the second time in recent years the Beerman household has lost a family member. Kelly’s mother, Marianne, died Oct. 8, 2008, following a 20-month struggle with cancer. Now Kelly’s father and two siblings have to cope with picking up the pieces.
Marianne Beerman was a nurse before giving birth to her first child, and Kelly pursued a career in nursing as a tribute to her mother, Ron Beerman said.
She would have been an excellent nurse, he said.
“That’s the way she was,” he said. “People trusted her upon sight because she was smiling and a very caring person.”
