Officials: No cause of Middletown fire yet

Middletown fire officials said they’re still investigating what started a house fire that caused $25,000 in damages to a residence at 1809 North Ave.

Deputy Fire Chief Jeff Spaulding said investigators are still interviewing neighborhood residents about the Oct. 31 fire.

Firefighters were called to 1809 North Ave. Oct. 31 after neighbors who were awakened by their dogs saw heavy smoke and called 911. Neighbors on both sides of the home checked the residence and realized the woman who lived there wasn’t home, they said.

No firefighters or occupants were injured, according to the report.
