While many across the Miami Valley are contending with debris from the Memorial Day tornadoes, officials from Public Health - Dayton and Montgomery County is reminding residents that open burning of storm debris is illegal within city limits across Ohio.

Storm debris includes materials like trees, brush, building materials and trash.

Open burning degrades air quality and causes breathing problems for those with respiratory illnesses. It also can cause safety concerns including fire damage and smoke reducing visibility on roads.
