Police: Shooting victim located after responding to burglary report

A 25-year-old man is recovering after police found him suffering from a gunshot wound to his leg inside a house on Stuben Drive in Trotwood late Sunday night.

Police responded to the home in the 1400 block of Stuben Drive around 11 p.m. Sunday on initial reports of a break-in at the house, Trotwood police said in a media release.

Officers found the victim suffering from a gunshot wound to the leg and transported him to Miami Valley Hospital where he is listed in stable condition, according to police.

Police are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the shooting, but said the victim is not cooperating with investigators.

The victim initially told police he is at the house frequently and passed out after using drugs. He woke up, saw that two men robbing him, heard a gunshot, and passed out again, the victim told investigators.

Investigators were not able to locate any neighbor or witnesses who saw any activity at the house or heard any gunshots, police said.
