A Troy resident and former licensed state high school referee is to be in court July 27 to answer to a multiple-count indictment accusing him of rape involving a juvenile and tampering with evidence.

Lucas is accused of engaging in sexual conduct with a teenage girl in Troy in March and attempting to alter evidence against him.

He was arrested on the rape charge in June, pleaded not guilty and remains in the county jail in lieu of $400,000 bail.

His OHSAA license was suspended following his arrest.

Arraignment is scheduled for July 27 in Miami County Common Pleas Court.
