Ohio Senate passes SB5 on narrow vote

COLUMBUS, Ohio -- The Ohio Senate has voted 17 to 16 to approve Senate Bill 5 which would restrict collective bargaining rights for 350,000 public workers. The bill bans public workers from striking and remove unionized workers' ability to negotiate health care, sick time or pension benefits.  Unionized workers could still negotiate wages, hours and certain work conditions.  The sponsor of the bill says it would help state and local governments control costs.  The bill now goes to the Ohio House.
