Darren D. Thomas, of Southfield Mich., faces charges including murder, aggravated robbery, felonious assault and carrying a concealed weapon under disability. Thomas, who previously served a 12-year prison sentence for a previous robbery conviction, turned himself in to his parole officer in the Detroit area early today, Plummer said.
Thomas and three other people traveled to Dayton to attempt to rob the Cash To Go Pawn Shop, 3694 Salem Ave, on Thursday before a firefight broke out. The store’s manager, 53-year-old Ilya Golub, was shot multiple times and died later at an area hospital. Police believe Golub shot one of the four, a 44-year-old man whom Plummer did not identify, multiple times. That man died sometime after, and the group dumped his body somewhere in Michigan, leaving it propped up against a building, Plummer said.
Police have identified and are currently trying to locate the other two suspects, another man and a female driver.

Detectives found Thomas and the others thanks to two witnesses who identified the make and license plate number of a van the suspects used for their getaway vehicle, Plummer said.
