1 in custody following standoff, stabbing in Dayton

News Center 7’s Mike Campbell just spoke with Jaya and Felicia Hardy who live next door to the house where the stabbing occurred. Felicia said that at least six adults ran out of the house and into the front yard screaming that the accused suspect, Jimmie Acor, “had gone crazy.”

Jaya Hardy stated Acor had been living next to them for about three months and that they could hear screaming and arguing coming from their house at night.

UPDATE @ 6:35 a.m: The man arrested following a standoff and stabbing that occurred at a residence on Miami Chapel Road has been identified.

Jimmie W. Acor, 48, is currently in custody on felonious assault and domestic violence charges, according to the Montgomery County Jail site.

Acor allegedly stabbed a woman at the home Sunday night, prompting multiple police agencies to respond, which led to a standoff.

A 911 caller, who identified herself as Acor’s daughter, told dispatchers that her father stabbed his girlfriend multiple times.

He was arrested at the residence in the 600 block and booked into jail early Monday morning, jail records show.

The victim, whose name was not released, was taken to Miami Valley Hospital. Her injuries were not life-threatening, police said.

The details surrounding the standoff are still unclear, though officials say the suspect was taken into custody without incident.

Crews responded to the 600 block of Miami Chapel Road after a person was reportedly stabbed around 8 p.m.

In a 9-1-1 call obtained by this news organization, the caller, who identified herself as the suspect’s daughter, told dispatchers a female victim had been stabbed multiple times.

“I need an ambulance. My dad stabbed his girlfriend three times,” the caller said.
