Power outage in Montgomery County may be weather-related, official says

Update@2:49 p.m.

The massive Montgomery County outage that caused some 10,500 DP&L customers to be without power for nearly an hour Thursday was "potentially weather-related with all the rain," a company spokesperson said.

Sometimes that can be the "catalyst" for the equipment failure that may have caused the outage, which was reported just after 2 p.m., the spokesperson said.

Power is expected to be restored to the remaining 73 DP&L customer within the hour, the officials added.
