UPDATE @ 4:25 p.m.

Four to five five-gallon buckets of paint slid off a truck this afternoon, spilling paint over the roadway in front of a Lowe’s store in Xenia.

Sgt. Scott Beegle of the Xenia Division of Police said the paint was water based and “no harm to the environment at all.”

The spill was expected to be cleaned shortly, he said.

FIRST REPORT

A paint spill has blocked a portion of a roadway this afternoon near a Lowe’s store in Xenia.

The spill was in the 100 block of Hospitality Drive but was not on the property of the home improvement store.

A store manager said it called in a cleanup crew.

It is not clear what brand of paint spilled, nor how it happened.
