The charges stem from an incident in December 2010 involving a barmaid who worked for Seitz in Sidney.
The parents of the victim appeared in court on Thursday and spoke before the judge.
The judge immediately ordered Seitz into the custody of the sheriff's department. The judge also denied a verbal motion from the defense attorney asking the judge for a "stay" in the execution of the sentence pending the outcome of an appear. Judge James Stevenson said he will await until the appeal is actually filed with the Second District Court of Appeals before considering to release Seitz on bond from prison pending a ruling on his appeal.
