1 in custody, 1 still being sought following East Dayton SWAT standoff

UPDATE @ 3:48 p.m.: A 28-year-old man, Justin Henderson, is being detained in the Fairborn City Jail on charges of aggravated robbery, kidnapping and felonious assault stemming from today's East Dayton SWAT standoff.

According to the Fairborn Police Department, officers were sent to the area of Salem Avenue and Vine Street just before 1:30 a.m. on a report of an aggravated robbery.

The victim in the robbery stopped to ask for directions when two subjects assaulted him and took his vehicle, according to police.

The victim's vehicle was later located a short distance from the incident.

Fairborn detectives developed Henderson as a suspect in the robbery. A second suspect is at large, according to police.

A man wanted for a crime in Fairborn was taken into custody following a standoff with police this afternoon in Dayton.

The man’s name and any charges he may be facing in connection to the case has not been released.

One man is in custody and was placed in the back of a police cruiser following a standoff.

A hostage negotiator has arrived on the scene of a SWAT standoff in the area of Alverno and St. Charles Avenue this afternoon.

INITIAL REPORT:

Dayton police and SWAT have surrounded a home in the area of Alverno and St. Charles avenues this afternoon.

Officers were on the scene attempting to make contact with someone they believe may be inside the house.

A Fairborn police sergeant is also on the scene.

Police were on the scene around 1 p.m.
