Murder charges approved for man arrested after Dayton shooting

Murder and other charges have been approved for a 26-year-old man accused of shooting and killing Calvin C. Tribble in Dayton earlier this week.

The Montgomery County Prosecutor’s Office approved the charges against Jamariyo Drane, who was arrested Thursday in connection to the shooting.

Drane will face charges on two counts of murder and two counts of felonious assault in connection to Tribble’s death. Drane will also face two separate charges of felonious assault for injuries two other people in the same car as Tribble suffered in the incident, officials said.

FIRST REPORT (Oct. 25):

Police have arrested a 26-year-old man on a preliminary charge of murder in connection to the fatal shooting of a Dayton man, according to records.

Jamariyo Drane was booked into the Montgomery County Jail Wednesday afternoon on a preliminary charge of murder and a separate parole violation, jail records indicate.

Drane is accused in the fatal shooting of Calvin C. Tribble, 21, who was killed Tuesday night on Wentworth Avenue, according to a Dayton police incident report.

Tribble was shot shortly before 9 p.m. Tuesday while inside a parked car on Wentworth Avenue in Dayton.

A suspect vehicle was pursued by police, but eluded officers until the vehicle was found parked and unoccupied.
