Robber climbs through Trotwood McDonalds drive-thru window

UPDATE @ 1:50 p.m.

No arrests have been made yet, but police did locate the suspected getaway vehicle from a robbery this morning at McDonalds, 5360 Salem Ave., in Trotwood.

The robber climbed through the drive-through window to get into the restaurant, where he threatened employees with a handgun and demanded cash, police said.

The robber ran away and is believed to have gotten into a van that was later found abandoned on Camelot Road.

He got away with an undetermined amount of cash.

UPDATE @ 3:40 a.m. 

Police have located a vehicle that might have been used as a getaway vehicle in the armed robbery in front of a home on Camelot Road in Trotwood.

Initial reports indicate the vehicle was found unoccupied and a K9 track was unsuccessful.

Additional details were not available.

FIRST REPORT

Police in Trotwood are investigating a reported armed robbery at the McDonalds on Salem Avenue Tuesday morning.

Officers were dispatched to the restaurant at 5360 Salem Avenue just after 2:40 a.m. after an employee reported the robbery.

Police scanner traffic indicates the suspect fled the scene on foot, but might have jumped into a vehicle and fled the scene.

A K9 officer has been requested to attempt to track the suspect.

Initial reports indicate a gun was displayed during the robbery.
