Police investigate after woman is found stabbed at Dayton gas station

Police are investigating after a woman was found early Monday at a Sunoco gas station suffering from a stab wound.

Crews were dispatched shortly before 4 a.m. to the gas station, located at 1737 E. Fifth St. in Dayton, according to emergency scanner traffic.

In a 911 call obtained by this news organization, the woman told police she was stabbed in her thigh approximately three to four hours before the call, but declined to tell dispatchers where the stabbing occurred.

The woman, whose name was not released, was taken to a local hospital in unknown condition, police confirm.

Police detained a possible suspect for questioning on Huffman Avenue in connection to the incident nearly an hour after the stabbing was reported.
