“I’ve just been shot,” a woman told a 911 dispatcher Monday afternoon.
The caller said she left the back door open to her home in the 700 block of Summit Square Drive.
While she was standing at the kitchen sink, someone entered her home, and when she turned around he shot her in the stomach with a black handgun, the victim told the dispatcher.
The shooter then ran off without taking anything, she said.
The victim said she was home alone with her child, and that she did not know her shooter, described as a skinny youth wearing black athletic shoes, jeans and a white shirt.
Police and medics were dispatched on reports of a person shot at a Dayton apartment complex Monday afternoon, according to initial reports.
The shooting was reported around 3 p.m. in the 700 block of Summit Square Drive, according to initial reports.
The condition of the victim was not immediately known.
