Camden police, using a search warrant, found the weapon in the bar Wednesday and confiscated video from the business, 42 E. Central Ave., Chief Matt Spurlock told News Center 7's John Bedell on Thursday.
Spurlock said the weapon is being sent to the Miami Valley Crime Lab for analysis because the victim's DNA is believed to be on it.
"The alleged assault took place out back and we think we may have gotten it on film," the chief said. "There was some kind of altercation."
No one has been arrested or charged.
Police have been told two versions of what happened, the chief said.
According to Spurlock and the search warrant filed with the case, an argument the night of Aug. 16 involving a patron and a person believed to be a bar employee erupted just before the nail-enhanced weapon was used.
The victim required stitches.
Spurlock said police do have a suspect but police have to look at the video first and determine which version about what happened is accurate. He said the police department will present its case to a county grand jury for potential charges that could run from disorderly conduct to felonious assault.
