"Fuel economy and something that's safe," Dawn Kalbfleisch said.
According to Dan Zinni, executive vice president of the Ohio Automobile Dealers Association, auto shows are a “shopper’s paradise.”
"With so many different vehicles under one roof, the consumer has a chance to see and compare different models," Zinni said. "You'll see a number of vehicles on display here that are getting 40 miles per gallon, and just a few years ago, that was unheard of."
Zinni said that consumers will see that the auto industry is back.
Technology is always important to consumers. And the Dayton Auto Show will showcase some of the newest technologies in the auto industry.
Many of these technologies involve wireless connectivity, according to Zinni.
This brings the convenience of phones and electronic devices to the driver, in a safe way.
Toyota will showcase more of its Prius line. Chevy will have two of its electric Volts available. The Volt won North American Car of the Year last year.
This year’s North American Car of the Year will be at the Dayton Auto Show – the 2012 Hyundai Elantra. The Elantra gets 40 MPG on the highway. Hyundai will also have its three-door, new model Veloster on display.
Small cars will be a common theme at the show, too. Scion will have its sub-compact iQ there. This tiny car resembles a Smart car, but is marketed toward a younger demographic.
Cadillac will showcase its brand new offering – the ATS. This smaller sedan is Cadillac’s first vehicle in the compact segment.
Luxury brands like BMW, Lexus, Mercedes-Benz and Acura will be represented for those who want to dream.
And for those who dream of driving fast, the big-engine cars will definitely be star attractions.
Vehicles like the Cadillac CTS-V, Chevy Corvette, Chevy Camaro, Ford Mustang and Dodge Charger will make those race-car-driver wannabes happy.
