Premier Health, Dayton Physicians Network upgrade radiation equipment

Premier Health and Dayton Physicians Network are now enhancing radiation oncology treatment with upgraded equipment.

Tumor-fighting linear accelerators at six centers are being upgraded to deliver radiation treatment more efficiently and reduce side effects in patients.

“This upgraded equipment will strengthen our cancer-fighting capabilities and enhance the quality of life of our patients,” Premier Health President and CEO Mary Boosalis said.

The new linear accelerators will decrease treatment time for patients and allow more accurate treatments, which can improve cure rates and decrease complications.

Radiation Oncology Services will have upgraded cancer care technology at the following centers: Atrium Medical Center, Miami Valley Hospital North, Miami Valley Hospital South, Upper Valley Medical Center, Greater Dayton Cancer Center and Wayne Cancer Center.
