“This is going to affect my community and what it brings in,” said Kristi Wagner, assistant manager, Adara Hunters Chase development in Miamisburg. “I love this area but it is congested.”
Some strengths of the area that were listed included:
- Successful highway system
- Available land for development
- The tax base
Some weaknesses of the area that were listed included:
- Traffic congestion
- Availability of public transportation
- Lack of pedestrian access
The master plan will focus on a two-square-mile section encompassing Ohio 741 and Ohio 725 in Miami Twp. and Miamisburg.
It will also impact Washington Twp. and West Carrollton, Chris Snyder, planning and zoning director for Miami Twp. and a member of the Miami Twp.-Dayton Mall Joint Economic Development District Board, has said.
The plan will have a southern boundary of Ohio 741 and Newmark Drive, just north of LexisNexis.
The next step in the process is for the conveners to analyze the feedback offered Thursday night.
A three-day community session is scheduled for February at the location to be determined.
