UPDATE @ 9:32 p.m.: We're learning now that Richmond police were involved in a standoff this afternoon, but were not involved in the shooting that was part of an incident involving a suspect and a shop owner.

INITIAL REPORT

Richmond, Ind., police confirm that one person has been shot in a standoff in the 800 block of South G. Street this afternoon.

The male was shot in the leg and has suffered a non-life-threatening wound, according to police and fire dispatch.

The incident was believed to have begun about 4:45 p.m.

According to the dispatcher, the police department will have details later.
