Xenia Police Division dispatch confirmed officers were on scene, but would not say why the officers were there, nor what they were doing. We are working to learn more information.

A Greene County grand jury indicted Nathaniel A. Gorman in connection to the shooting of a Xenia man.
Gorman was indicted on counts of felonious assault; improperly discharging a firearm at or into a habitation; receiving stolen property; tampering with evidence; and weapons under disability. He will be arraigned Aug. 18 in Greene County Common Pleas Court.

Charges have been approved for the third suspect in the shooting on West Second Street earlier this week, according to police.
The suspect, a 16-year-old, was charged with complicity to felonious assault, complicity to improperly discharge firearm at or into a habitation, obstructing official business and curfew.

Xenia police say a gun believed to be used in this shooting has also been located.
The third suspect, a juvenile male, was arrested in Dayton today. Charges are pending against that person.
The second juvenile male, previously arrested, has formal charges filed against him, including complicity to felonious assault, complicity to discharging firearm at or into habitation, complicity to discharging a firearm on or near prohibited premises and curfew.

Xenia police confirm the third suspect wanted in connection to Wednesday’s shooting on West Second Street is now in custody.
Police did not release specifics on how the juvenile was taken into custody.

The 18-year-old charged in connection to Wednesday’s shooting on West Second Street made his first appearance in Xenia Municipal Court today.
Nathanial Gorman’s bond was set at $100,000.

Gorman is charged with felonious assault, improper discharge of a firearm and weapons under disability, all felonies.
An unidentified juvenile taken into custody has not yet been charged and police are still looking for another juvenile that may be involved in the case, police said.

Police have identified the adult suspect involved in a shooting overnight in the 1600 block of West Second Street in Xenia.
Nathaniel Alton Gorman, 18, is in the Greene County Jail on suspicion of felonious assault, improperly discharging a firearm at or into a habitation and having weapons under disability.
Police are considering charges against one juvenile who is in custody and a third suspect, also a juvenile, who has not been apprehended.
Police have not released the names of the juvenile suspects.

A homeowner who confronted two people rifling through his vehicle overnight was shot in the leg as the suspected thieves ran away, according to Xenia Capt. Alonzo Wilson.

The homeowner’s two dogs barked and alerted him to a noise outside his home shortly before he called 911 at 3:41 a.m., Wilson said.
“When he went out to address the noise he heard there were subjects inside his vehicle that he did not know,” Wilson said.

The two intruders ran and one fired at least two shots toward the homeowner, one of which struck him in the leg, Wilson said.
Police got a description of the suspect vehicle that sped from the scene. That vehicle was stopped in the area of Colorado and Commonwealth drives. Three people got out of the sport utility vehicle and ran.

Wilson said officers arrested one suspect fairly quickly and tracked down another at a home on Sheelin Road.
An adult and a juvenile male are in custody. A third suspect is still being sought.

Their names have not been released, but all three are known to police, Wilson said.
The victim is in good condition after he was treated and released from Miami Valley Hospital.
Wilson said the victim’s car was not locked and there have been a number of car break-ins in the city and in the Miami Valley in general.
He advises residents and motorists to lock their vehicles and call police instead of confronting someone on their property without permission.

A second suspect related to a morning shooting in Xenia has been taken into custody.
The suspect was taken into custody at a home on Sheelin Road in Xenia around 7:35 a.m.

EARLIER
XENIA — Police officers are searching for at least one suspect after a person was shot on West Second Street early Wednesday.
- Police and medics were dispatched around 3:44 a.m. to the 1600 block of West Second Street for a gunshot victim.
- Police believe the victim was shot in the leg during an armed robbery, according to scanner traffic.
- By 5:45 a.m., at least one suspect was in custody after police stopped a SUV on Commonwealth Drive.
Initial reports indicate police were searching for three suspects.
Officers closed West Second Street between Rockwell and Beatty drives while the manhunt ensued, according to scanner traffic. Residents were cautioned to stay inside their homes and instructed to keep their doors locked.
A K-9 unit was called in to assist with the search that spanned multiple locations, according to scanner traffic.
The victim, who was reported to have been shot in the leg, was transported to Miami Valley Hospital for treatment.
The victim’s condition is unknown at this time.
