Reports: Police investigate detonated device found in Richmond park

Police have launched an investigation at Glen Miller Park in Richmond after a device that was previously detonated was found Tuesday, according to our news partners at Kicks96.

Officers have blocked all entrances to the park while investigators continue to search for any additional explosives, the station reported.

The detonated device was found by a maintenance worker at the park Tuesday morning, according to a report from the Richmond Pal Item. The device was placed under or near a trash can before it was detonated, the paper reports.

Members from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives have been requested to assist Richmond police investigate the incident, according to the Pal Item.

The detonated device is being investigated as the possible source of an explosion that was heard and reported Monday night, according to Kicks96.
