UPDATE: 2 inside stolen Jeep injured after Clark County pursuit ends in crash

A pursuit involving a stolen vehicle ended in a crash on South Bird Road in Clark County Friday, investigators said.

Deputies attempted to stop a Jeep that was reported stolen from German Twp. around 11:45 a.m. Friday.

The Jeep crashed into another vehicle on South Bird Road between state Route 41 and U.S. 40. The crash sent the Jeep into a field and trapped the driver inside, investigators said.

The driver of the Jeep, only identified as a woman, was rescued from the vehicle and transported by a CareFlight ground ambulance to an area hospital. A passenger in the Jeep, only identified as a man, was evaluated for injuries on the scene.

Their conditions were not immediately released.

The occupants of the other vehicle were not injured, according to investigators.

A reported pursuit involving the Clark County Sheriff’s Office has ended in a serious crash on South Bird Road, initial reports indicate.

Deputies reported they were involved in a pursuit around 11:45 a.m. Friday, scanner traffic indicates. The pursuit reportedly ended in a crash involving two vehicles on South Bird Road between state Route 41 and U.S. 40 around noon.

At least one person is reportedly trapped in a vehicle, according to emergency scanner traffic.

A medical helicopter was requested to the scene, however they were unable to fly due to weather conditions.
