Occupant escapes from fully-involved two-story house fire in Middletown

UPDATE @ 7:05 a.m.:

A man was awakened by smoke detectors early Saturday morning from a fire, according to Deputy Fire Chief David Adams.

When crews arrived in the 800 block of 10th Avenue, the two-story house was heavily involved.

The occupant was able to escape with no injuries.

Middletown Fire, along with Moraine and Franklin Fire helped assist at the scene.

The fire is currently under investigation.

UPDATE @ 4:45 a.m.:

The working structure fire in the 800 block of 10th Avenue has smoke and fire showing from the second floor, and additional engines have been requested.

Per initial reports, heavy fire is showing from the stairwell and second floor.

We have a crew on the way and will update this page when more information becomes available.

FIRST REPORT: 

We are hearing reports of a two-story house fire in the 800 block of 10th Avenue.

Per initial reports, the fire is fully involved and defensive, and flames and smoke was coming from the top of the house when crews arrived.

The incident was reported just before 4:00 a.m.
