The bar has undergone extensive renovations over the past year under the direction of The Bar Time’s founder and owner, Dean Liakakos, who also owns and operates Kings Table Bar & Grill in Beavercreek, which he opened in 2005. Liakakos said he liked the new Kettering bar’s location, between The Greene Town Center and Fraze Pavilion.

Like Kings Table, The Bar Time has a focus on craft beer. The new Kettering bar has 32 taps, most of them devoted to craft beers, including several from Dayton-area craft breweries. The taps also include two cream-soda options and a Moscow Mule cocktail. The Bar Time also boasts a variety of bourbons and Scotch whiskies.

The area around The Bar Time has seen some setbacks in recent years, most notably the 2018 loss of the Elder-Beerman store in the Kettering Towne Center across the street, after that department store chain filed for bankruptcy last year. But recent successes nearby include Archer’s Tavern, which moved into a former chain steakhouse in a Kettering Towne Center outlot in 2016, a few months before Rapid Fired Pizza brought a shuttered former Krispy Kreme doughnut shop back to life in December 2016.

The Bar Time’s opening-week hours are 3:15 p.m. to 11 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday, and 3:15 p.m. to midnight Friday and Saturday, closed Sunday through Tuesday. Liakakos said he plans to expand hours in the weeks and months ahead.
