Single concert tickets are $40. Tickets that include preferred concert seating and a dinner beforehand with a special appearance from Skaggs cost $100, said Sandra Snyder, the House’s director of community relations.
The organizers are aiming to fill the church’s 2,700 seats and send all proceeds to Hope House, she said.
The nonprofit organization, funded entirely by donations, provides emergency shelter and services to 50 men and 50 women, mostly from the Middletown and Butler County area, she said.
In addition to the basic services, she said Hope House also gives its residents behavioral, emotional, educational and spiritual support through programs targeting holistic health.
Skaggs, who plays a couple benefit concerts a year, was the perfect fit for the inaugural benefit concert, Snyder said.
“He has a heart for what we do, a heart for homeless people, as well as a heart for Southwest Ohio,” Snyder said.
Hope House and Center of Hope Director Mitchell Foster said that there’s huge potential for the first fundraising event and more after it.
“We pray that with this one, that it would touch other artists out there that would do the same thing,” he said.
