Sacred Heart Festival returns

Nothing says summer like a good old-fashioned church festival and the Sacred Heart Church Festival in Fairfield is one of the best. The festival takes place this Friday, Saturday and Sunday, August 10-12 beginning at 6 p.m. on Friday and Saturday and 3 p.m. on Sunday.

“There’s something for everyone at the Sacred Heart Festival,” commented festival co-chair Matt Miller. “This year there are 15 booths of games just for little kids as well as the games of chance for adults. We have carnival rides, beer and Bingo and lots of festival type foods. Our grilled corn on the cob is always a big hit.”

Each evening has special features for food and musical entertainment.

Enjoy a fish fry Friday night while listening to the classic rock sounds of the Final Order band. Saturday night dance to sounds of the Weekend at Bernie’s Band and enjoy pulled pork barbecue from Rib City Barbecue. End your weekend on Sunday with The Naked Karate Girls Band and barbecued chicken also from Rib City.

The Sacred Heart Festival is located at 400 Niles Road in Fairfield. For more information, go to the Facebook page at
