Parents receive scam calls in Brookville

The Brookville Local School District has been notified by several parents from the high school about a scam phone call.

The caller claims they are with an ACT prep class business, according to the school district’s Facebook page. They call and claim to know the child’s name and state they need a payment for a book for the ACT.

The district advises to not give the callers any information, even if you know that your student is in a prep class for the ACT. The call does not have any affiliation with the school district.

The local police department has been notified. If you receive a call from these scammers in any district, you are asked to contact your local police.
