School putt-putt event to raise money for the arts

The Butler Performing Arts Association (BPAA) will be hosting the first Aces for the Arts, a putt-putt golf event inside Butler High School on Saturday, April 8 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Through this school year, BPAA has worked on several different fundraising projects, which included popcorn sales, a gift wrapping party, and restaurant fundraising evenings.

The BPAA set an initial goal for the family-friendly putt-putt event at about $10,000 to be distributed among performing arts groups at Butler High School. BPAA members have worked on this project since Nov. 2016.

BPAA students are scheduled to perform and concessions and raffle items will also be available in the cafeteria. Among the donated items for baskets that will be raffled include Dragons Baseball Team items, gifts, Vandalia Rec Center items, and COSI tickets.
