Firefighter partially falls through hole, fire under investigation in Fairborn

UPDATE @ 9:26 a.m.: 

A firefighter partially fell through a hole in the floor while battling a fire in a Fairborn house Thursday morning, according to investigators.

Firefighters were dispatched to the first block of South Second Street around 7:20 a.m. and reported heavy smoke coming from the structure.

They had to evacuate the house and fight the fire from outside, said Chief David Reichert.

No one was found inside the home.

The firefighter who partially fell through the floor was evaluated at the scene, but not taken to the hospital.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Firefighters have responded to reports of a house fire on South Second Street in Fairborn Thursday morning.

Crews responded to the first block of South Second Street around 7:20 a.m. and reported smoke was coming from the structure, according to emergency scanner traffic.

A second alarm request for more crews to respond was made shortly after the first units arrived on the scene, reports indicate.

No injuries have been initially reported.
