See a beautiful property in Clayton? Nominate it for an award.

The city of Clayton is gearing up for the second annual Spring VIP Beautification Program to honor residents who have worked to improve their property.

The program started last year in an effort to recognize residents who work to beautify their respective properties, according to Director of Development Jack Kuntz.

“The residents of Clayton work to improve the aesthetic appeal of the neighborhoods and community,” Kuntz said.

City officials wanted to do something to showcase those residents who bring beautification to the city from the upkeep of their homes to the beautiful gardens residents plant each year.

Clayton not only recognizes spring awards, but also recognize winners for fall/Halloween, winter holiday lights and summer.

Properties can be nominated by anyone in the community, and the winners are voted on by Clayton staff, according to Kuntz.

The winners of each program are recognized at a City Council meeting with a plaque and yard placard.

Last year alone, there were 70 properties nominated for all VIP awards.

In order to nominate a property, send an email to Kuntz at jkuntz@clayton.oh.us or call (937) 836-3500 with the nominee’s address, your name and email address and a brief description of the property. Residents have until May 31 for the spring nominees.
