Semi overturned in Monroe; Ohio 63 blocked

UPDATE @ 7:04 p.m.

Monroe police reopened Ohio 63 west about 6 p.m. Friday after a steel coil weighing more than 58,000 tons was reloaded onto another semi-trailer.

Police said the westbound lanes of Ohio 63 were blocked at American Way after a semi-trailer overturned and dropping the steel coil on the road shoulder. Heavy-duty tow trucks helped to right the overturned semi-trailer and to reload the steel coil on another semi-trailer.

No other information was available as police were still investigating the accident.

A semi tractor trailer has overturned on Ohio 63 West at American Way in Monroe.

There are no injuries but lanes are blocked, according to police dispatchers. Motorists are advised to avoid the area. Use American Way to Lebanon Street as a detour.

No word yet when the scene will be clear, but the truck is leaking gasoline
