Funeral services for Kayla Mongold, the 12-year-old hit and killed Sunday when hit by an SUV, will be held this weekend at the Richards Raff and Dunbar Memorial Funeral Home in Springfield.
Visitation for Mongold will be 5 to 8 p.m. Her funeral will be Saturday at 10: 30 a.m.
Authorities say Mongold was killed Sunday evening after Joseph Thomson, 30, attempted to flee from police and hit Mongold while she was walking with her friend. The friend was able to avoid being hit by the green Chevy Suburban.
Thomson, charged with aggravated vehicular homicide, remains in the Clark County Jail on a $100, 000 bond.
The Springfield City School District will have grief counselors at Hayward Middle School from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday for any student and family member.
