He discussed her childhood, and several family photos were shown. He was asked by the defense about Richardson’s weight and eating disorder issues, displaying images from various times in her high school period.
He said her early signs of an eating disorder began when she was 12 or 13 years old.
“Hiding food ... weight fluctuation,” Scott Richardson said.

Brooke Richardson volunteered to care for children at the Atrium Family YMCA & Children's Center, which also meant she could work out there as she continued to battle weight issues, he said.
He also said the family would have supported Richardson and the baby if she had told them about the pregnancy and birth.
“We would have taken it into the family,” he said.
He said he regrets that the family didn’t have an attorney with Richardson during a second interrogation by police, which is the interview that led to her arrest.
"She would never hurt another living being," Scott Richardson told the jury.
