The deputy went to a home near the 3400 block of Springfield-Xenia Road around 10:45 a.m. Tuesday, in relation to a followup call for another agency, investigators with the Clark County Sheriff’s Office said.
After attempting to talk to the people inside a neighboring home, a dog started running towards the deputy and was acting aggressive, officials said.
Two shots were fired by the deputy, striking the dog, which later died, investigators said.
Additional details about the incident and investigation were not available.
