Shooting reported at Summit Square Apartments in Dayton

Initial reports indicate multiple shots were heard just after 2 a.m. in the 600 block of Summit Square Drive.

More than a dozen people were reportedly in the area where the shots were heard.

One person reportedly was seen laying on the ground, according to emergency scanner traffic. It is unconfirmed at this time whether the person was shot.

A resident who was awakened by gunfire told 911 dispatchers that she heard people shooting and fighting outside the apartment complex.

“I heard two shots and somebody say, ‘we need to get him to a hospital,’” the caller said.
