"Splendido Little Tomatoes" recalled

MIAMI VALLEY, Ohio -- A tomato recall that started in the west has now spread to Ohio. The Dayton Daily News says it now affects Trader Joe's in Kettering.

Taylor Farms Pacific, Inc. in Tracy, California was told earlier this week by a grower named Six L's that a specific lot of grape tomatoes  supplied to the farms may  have salmonella contamination. No illnesses have been reported and the recall is a precaution.

Trader Joe's in Town and Country Shopping Center is recalling "Trader Joe's Splendido Little Tomatoes." The tomatoes have code dates "Packed On: 11AL 16" and "Packed On: 11 AL 17."

Salmonella can affect young children, the frail and elderly.  Healthy people may experience fever, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and stomach pain.
