OTHER LOCAL NEWS: Local nonprofit to kick of $17M renovations

Each year the beauty brand awards $3 million to domestic violence shelters across the country through the foundation’s mission to stop the violence, break the silence and make a difference for women and children.

Project Woman was chosen as one of the 2018 recipients in addition to 150 other shelters across the country.

The organization, which also has two other Ohio locations in Urbana and London, provides services and programs  to protect, educate, and empower those plagued by domestic violence and sexual assault.

These include: an emergency shelter for victims of domestic violence and/or sexual assault and their children, a 24-hour crisis line, individual counseling, support groups, case management, victim advocacy, community education and prevention, children’s programming, 24-hour hospital advocacy and a transitional housing program.

More information about Project Woman or volunteer opportunities can be found on the organization’s website.
