UPDATE: Stabbing in Drexel being investigated as self-inflicted, police say

UPDATE @ 9:45 p.m.: The stabbing is being investigated as self-inflicted, Trotwood police said.

INITIAL REPORT (9:38 p.m.)

At least one person has been taken to a hospital from a stabbing in the 6000 block of West Third Street (U.S. 35 West) in Drexel.

The victim, a male in his 30s, suffered at least one stab wound to the chest, a Trotwood fire battalion chief is telling us, and the man's condition is believed to be serious.

The man has been taken to Miami Valley Hospital.

News Center 7 is working to get a word with Trotwood police.

Police and a medic unit were dispatched about 9:05 p.m. to the address on the report of a stabbing.

The police activity appears to be focused on a house with what appears to be a second-floor apartment above a garage.
