Student, business applications accepted for pollution prevention internship

HAMILTON — Butler County is looking for businesses and students interested in taking part in the 2010 pollution prevention internship program.

The Butler County Recycling and Solid Waste District sponsors the program to help local businesses improve their operations, conserve energy and water, and decrease waste disposal.

MillerCoors and Tedia Company participated in the program in 2009, and realized a combined annual savings of more than $600,000, according to county officials.

The application due date is Friday, Jan. 29 for businesses and Feb. 19 for student applications. Interested businesses or students should contact Environmental Specialist Kimberley York at (513) 887-3406 or YorkKA@butlercountyohio.org or download an application from the district’s Web site.
