According to a police report, the driver was delivering pizzas in the 200 block of Perrine Street just after midnight, but was unsuccessful in his attempt to make contact with the customer. While out of his vehicle, he noticed two males exit a gold Dodge Caravan at the intersection of Perrine Street and Johnson Street.

One of the men, who was wearing a black t-shirt, walked rapidly past the delivery driver, heading towards Clover Street. The other man, who was wearing a white t-shirt with a box cut hairstyle ran and jumped in the driver’s Jeep Renegade.

As the delivery driver ran after his stolen vehicle, the suspect attempted to run him over, which prompted the driver to jump on the hood of the car. The driver was eventually able to get down from the vehicle, without injury, after the suspect stopped and then fled on Wayne Avenue, the report said.

The driver of the Dodge Caravan fled in the same direction.

The suspects are described as black, in their early 20s, medium build, and approximately 5-foot-10-inches.

Officers made contact with residents at the address where the pizzas were supposed to be delivered, and found they in fact did not order any pizza.

The incident remains under investigation.
