The teen was driving a 2008 Pontiac G6 west on Fox Road when she pulled out in front of a semitrailer headed south on 49, according to the report. The accident shut down the intersection for several hours.
A Life Flight medical helicopter was dispatched and the teen was taken to Lima Memorial Hospital, a source told News Center 7.
Sometime before the collision at 49 and Fox Road, the teen was involved a minor single-vehicle crash on Sharpsburg Road, according to the sheriff's office.
According to the sheriff's office, she was driving a 2001 Ford Taurus on Sharpsburg when the car was driven off the road and into a pole, causing minor functional damage to the vehicle, according to the crash report. There was no probable cause listed in the report.
Sheriff Jeff Grey said authorities learned about the crash on Sharpsburg Road after responding to the crash on 49 at Fox Road.
