The Mandalay banquet facility back open, ‘ready to serve’

The Mandalay banquet and event center is back open with new owners eager to make the hall an event destination spot for the Dayton area.

“We are rediscovering, reinventing, re-establishing greatness here in our banquet facility,” Molly McConnell, owner and vice president, said during an open house Thursday night.

“We are trying to introduce everyone back to Mandalay to let them know we are here, we are ready to serve you ... we want to make it your event, not our event,” McConnell said.

The banquet hall is the largest in the area, with a capacity up to 2,000, she said.

McConnell and her husband, owners of the Little Miami River Catering Company, purchased the banquet hall for $1.67 million in December, Montgomery County Auditor’s Office records show.
