The Top 5 Killers of Men

National Men's Health Week,  was created by Congress in 1994 to raise the awareness of the health threats uniquely facing men.  June 13-19 2011 was National Men's Health Week this year.  Bill Phillips and the Editors of Men's Health  have created  a list of the top five killers of men in America. Collectively, these diseases kill nearly one million of us annually. And, chances are, your lifestyle or genetic profile puts you at risk for at least one of them.

The Top five are stroke, pulmonary disease , accidents , cancer and heart disease . Heart disease is the number one killer of men, claiming the lives of nearly 400,000 fathers, friends, brothers, and sons every year.

So what can we do , well the experts give us four things we can do, exercise for 30 minutes 2 -4 times a week , lose that spare tire, drink five glasses of water a day and the count to 10 . The editors said

"  Keeping your cool under stress may keep you alive. Men who respond with anger are three times more likely to have heart disease and five times more likely to have a heart attack before turning 55."
