“The new restaurant offers guests an elevated buffet dining experience with a stone fireplace, contemporary decor, more comfortable and varied seating options, as well as an all-new buffet area with an enhanced carvery and tiled walls that look much like a residential kitchen,” Golden Corral officials said in a release.
“The response has been very favorable so far,” Profeta said. The restaurant’s customers “really enjoy the fireplace and the sharpness of the new design,” he said.

The 10,000-square-foot restaurant seats 316 and employs 48. It offers a buffet with more than 150 items including custom-grilled steaks at dinner, a salad bar, and several dessert choices.
There are four other Dayton-area Golden Corral restaurants, on Miller Lane in Butler Twp., near the Mall at Fairfield Commons in Beavercreek, in Springfield, and in Franklin. The Miami Twp. location is one of just 10 Golden Corrals in the country to receive the “Gateway Golden Corral” next-generation update, Profeta said.

Based in Raleigh, N.C., Golden Corral operates 489 restaurants in 42 states. The chain was once owned by Frisch’s, which sold it in 2012 to NRD Holdings LLC, an Atlanta-based operator of fast-food and pizza restaurants.

The Miami Twp. Golden Corral is open from 9:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 9:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday, and 7:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday.
